This time period is before my time. I don't think it was suicide. I don't think this will ever be solved. "What happens in Hollywood, stays in Hollywood". He wasn’t following the trait for someone who is suicidal. Its very sad and I believe that there has been someone that is volatile and narcissistic if he has been either moving away from his role. The guy was 45 years old. There is only so long anyone can play Superman. So he would need to look further. Its definitely someone with a lot of influence and the whole event looks staged. I enjoyed this look at the Goerge Reeves career and life. A good presentation 😊

My dad had kids later in life, so needless to say by the time I was a teenager there was quite the generation gap between us. There was one main thing that would always bonded us was the two of us staying up late into the night, just the two of us watching the Benny Hill Show. 😂😂 We would even have private jokes between us pertaining to the show. Benny was not only making people laugh, he put people together in ways he never knew. Both my dad and Benny are gone now and I miss them both. 😊 R.I.P. Thanks dad for being you Thanks Benny for the laughs.

If we look at ordinary people, George Reeves death is not too mysterious. He had love troubles which as been a motive for the suicides and it does not matter if one is famous. I can't prove is was his values, but having a broader view of oneself and one's relationships helps. There are no perfect people or relationships. Everyone can in potential have negative behavior, power battles, have feelings of jealousy, over possessive, controlling, etc.

  • @geoffreyah

One has to have a philosophy of life which includes human weaknesses in order to have self acceptance, the positive and the negative. The ego is the hero. Psychologists call this absolute values. One is either wonderful and perfect or flawed and valueless and worthless and there ain't no in between which can lead to feelings of hopelessness.

  • @geoffreyah

This is a very informative video. We have to be careful about conspiracy theories though since the average individual and general public over idealize famous people, but they still are people and have psychological problems, and limitations just like ordinary people. Marilyn Monroe is a good example. George Reeves really was superman since he was very physical and he was the stuntman for all the difficult stunts in his Superman TV sereis. Recall that he tended to over identify with his role and everyone wants the superman without the kryptonite. His kryptonite might have been that his superior function was sensation so therefore in Jungian typology, his inferior function was intuition which is needed to be more developed as meaning and looking at the world and not taking everything for face value and the literal and seeing a deeper meaning to the physical world like the figurative language, and symbolism. A spiritual philosophy is needed which looks at religion, myth, archetype, metaphor etc. The hero and the villain represent impersonal values, etc. My point is one has a link to the eternal, undying with meaning. It's a feeling too. One has value being a mouthpiece for something greater, the imagination and collective feeling, but also thinking and meaning. In other words one has to relate to people in a more than one level with the intellectual, emotional and sensual. The cure for depression and feelings of loss is meaning, a psychological death and rebirth process or inner versus outer, mind versus the material. In other words ones sense of self worth is not limited to externals.

George reeves loved playing superman he just wanted better stories for the show like it had before that he loved to do them and he would have gotten better roles in the 1960s and the 1970s and the 1980s and he have gotten married to someone who he really loved and had a better life and their was a big fight in the house that night were each person help each other out to carry him and come up with story because they did not know what was happening with the superman tv show

Had the pleasure of being in the front row several times here in south florida. Back then 1977- 79 most concerts were general admission down here. They absolutely rocked the house. What a great Classic Rock Band! If you ever want too see an amazing grave site. It's in Macon Ga. Dwayne Allman and Burke Oakley's grave site. What a unreal memory. Very sad, but really well done to honor such legendary artists. Well worth the exploration.

I know many do not buy the Lozzi account of the Toni Mannix deathbed confession. I am cautious but open-minded and not necessarily convinced. My understanding of this is that Toni procured Eddie Mannix's goons to execute this because Eddie was in bad health and only had a few years left. True or not. Hard to fathom or very possible we cannot know. I will point out a very similar irony. In 1964 former actress Margaret Gibson made a deathbed confession for the murder of William Desmond Taylor in 1922. She was a recent Catholic convert and requested a priest because of her fear of going to Hell for unconfessed sin. Her neighbor who came to her house claims to have witnessed her words. He knew her under another name and no one around even knew her acting past or her connection to Taylor. But it was many years before he shared this and initially dismissed it. So I would not altogether discard the Toni confession.

Fantastic work... This story hurts me deeply. Two favored cartoon movies that I grew up with, and watch on occasions with my, now, 7-and-a-half year-old niece. Im just now learning of this story today(may have learned of ot in the past, but my memory got scrambled after a near-death drug induced seizure. I'm still alive thanks to my sister and my niece, and these stories help me to value my life more for them. Thank you for making this documentary, and I am glad that someone suggested it in a comments section on an article website about this story. Again, great work here.

All the new shows in ABC's 1965 fall schedule tanked. ABC had originally planned to release the Batman TV series in the fall of 1966 to take advantage of the Batman movie release in the summer of 1966. Due to the failure of all their 1965 fall schedule shows ABC released Batman in January 1966.

A legend. Did anyone else's Dad, pretend to read a newspaper with peepholes and watch the show?. His shows were iconic. At one time, you could go anywhere in the world, and mention Benny, and they soon have a big smile on their faces, of affection, and pleasure. Pretty scanty-clad ladies will never go out of fashion. Compared to today's ''Anything Goes society'' The show was pretty tame. Who doesn't like pretty girls?. The prudes and feminists, the politically correct nothing else to do but be miserable and, shout the exploitation of women, got it wrong, like Ladies of the night, it's the men that are exploited For money. Think of Benny, and it makes you back to your childhood and makes your heart smile, and long for those golden days again. Where things were less stressful and complicated. For many, he provided an escape for people from their problems for a while, that's one reason Cinema was born, especially in war times. The main thing is Benny had a talent for making people laugh and gave pleasure to millions of people above anything else. He was a genius, unique and unforgettable. How many so-called comics can you say they are about today? His cheeky face and naughty schoolboy demeanour only added to his charm and wit. So sad, he gave so much to the world but never had a relationship and love. He left us with a legacy for many generations to come, a d may never be forgotten. RIP. .
